Přednáška profesora Abdelkadera Hameurlaina: Impacts of Cloud Computing on the Evolution of Data Management Systems

V úterý 6. října se bude na FIT konat přednáška emeritního profesora Abdelkadera Hameurlaina z Toulouse University, který se zaměří na vliv cloud computingu na vývoj systémů pro správu dat.

📌Impacts of Cloud Computing on the Evolution of Data Management Systems
📅 6. 10. 2026 od 13 hodin na FIT VUT
Přednáška bude probíhat v angličtině a trvat přibližně 45 minut.

The lecture will explore how cloud computing has influenced the evolution of Data Management Systems (DMS), with a particular focus on data analysis systems (OLAP).

Prof. Hameurlain will present three generations of Cloud Data Management Systems – from MapReduce systems through multi-tenant parallel relational DBMSs to Multistore/Polystore systems. He will also discuss the new concepts introduced by cloud computing and its impact on software engineering and data management.

The lecture will conclude with an overview of some of the open research challenges in database systems, drawing on reports from the international database research community, as well as the growing influence of industry on research directions.
