Umělá inteligence v monitorování silniční dopravy

The aim of the project is to use artificial intelligence (AI) methods in road traffic monitoring. The narrower focus is on the application of machine learning (ML) methods to monitor objects that occur in traffic, as well as to obtain the necessary data for various tasks of monitoring behavior and/or detecting traffic violations. The intention is to use data from cameras as well as from other sensors as input and also to experimentally verify the possibilities of alternative inputs (sensors and/or, for example, multispectral or high dynamic range sensing) and their processing.

In the company of the project proponent, CAMEA, spol. s r.o., we have been dealing with the processing of sensor data for traffic monitoring for a long time and a number of products are based on it. The implementation of the proposed project would enable a wider use of AI/ML both directly in products and in product design. This would greatly support the competitiveness of the applicant's company, especially in the international environment, where AI/ML tools are experiencing great growth and are also intensifying competition in traffic monitoring systems.

The expected result of the project is mainly a modernized Smart Camera (SC) platform in CAMEA, spol. s r.o., with the possibility of connecting additional sensors, in the form of a functional sample, a set of algorithms using AI/ML for traffic monitoring, i.e. software, but also a functional sample of a system using multiple sensor inputs and/or multiple cameras to implement a selected traffic monitoring task.

The project assumes effective cooperation between the applicant's company, CAMEA, spol. s r.o., with the research organization, and with the Faculty of Information Technologies (FIT), BUT, Brno.
