Příspěvek popisuje strukturu studentů, kteří studují na oboru Výpočetní technika a informatika na Fakultě elektrotechniky a informatiky Vysokého učení technického v Brně. Absolventi různých středních škol mají rozdílnou úroveň znalostí a dovedností, které si přinesli ze střední školy.

This paper deals with a structure of students studying at the Computer Science and Engineering branch of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (FEE&CS) of the Brno University of Technology (Brno UT). Any candidate who has completed higher secondary education and passed the General Certificate of Secondary Education can apply for admission as a student of the FEE&CS of the Brno UT. Accepted candidates (students) are alumni of grammar schools, industrial colleges, and other secondary schools. Alumni of various secondary schools have a different input level of acquirements. A transition of a student from secondary school into a university of technology is not a simple task. An organization of a study, and methods, how study matters are passed between instructors and students, are quite another, and some students are not able to manage this sudden change of their habitual stereotypes. In this paper, several recognitions of the author are explained from his multiyear activities as an adviser/tutor of the Computer Science and Engineering branch at the FEE&CS of the Brno UT.
