English language course registration and subsequent summer semester course re-registration

Tags: registrace přeregistrace BIT BAN2 BAN3 BAN4 AIT JA3 AEU

The condition for a successful completion of bachelor's study is a successful completion (or have recognized) of courses BAN4 or AIT either by studying or having an English language certificate recognised (see rector's directive no. 12/2019). Students that will not register "seats" successfully will have their English language course registration cancelled. Please consider in particular, the following information:

First-year students had the chance to take the English placement test according to the guidelines of the Department of Languages at FEEC, and can register English language courses for summer semester 2019/2020 according to their results and the determined level of English. Students are automatically enrolled in the respective English language course, and the enrolment is cancelled if they fail to register a "seat". Students can also submit an application to have their level of English adjusted (within 14 days of closing the placement test). Higher-year students have already registered a course reflecting their level of English and must now register a "seat" (more information below).

Registration of "seats" for English courses in the summer semester 2019/2020 is going to be handled in IS FIT in the duties of the registered course:
on 10th January 2020 at 20:00 (8 pm) the priority registration for 2nd year and higher is going to open
on 13th January 2020 at 13:00 (1 pm) the priority registration of BAN2 - BAN4 and AIT for the 2nd year and higher is going to close
on 13th January 2020 at 20:00 (8 pm)
the registration for BAN2 - BAN4 and AIT for 1st year is going to open
on 17th January 2020 at 23:59 (11:59 pm) the registration ENDS. Students without a "chair" will have their english course deleted

First-year students that have not taken the English placement test need to wait for course registration/re-registration and can register a "seat" if there still are "seats" available and choose within their own discretion (and bear the risks of failing and consequences that come from overestimating their skills). If this is the case, students are obliged to register a seat within 60 minutes of registering a course, otherwise the registration is cancelled again, to make sure that no free "seats" are blocked. Students registered for an English language course without a seat will have their registration cancelled once the registration period ends (and can lose their chance at a preferential registration of seats for next year). Those who have not passed the test and have no English to choose from can apply for setting of the level to BAN2 or BAN3.

Number of registered students in the course registration form does not have to match the number of students that register "seats", in case of English language courses. It is, in fact, lower than that. First-year students are automatically enrolled in the course (without prior registration).

It is advised not to leave English language courses for latter years of your study, as there will be less "seats" available (especially summer semester as it will be about 20 seats), BAN2 course will not be open in winter semester and registration of English for the summer semester will only be possible in higher years if some English is also registered for the winter semester.

Summer semester course re-registration for the first-year students will open on 28th January 2020 at 20:00.
Summer semester course re-registration for all other students will open on 29th January 2020 at 20:00.
The re-registration period ends on 7th February 2020 at 23:59.

Credit ceiling for the summer semester is set according to the guideline no. 1/2019, whereas a possible increase up to 80 credits happens continuously with the winter semester study results inputted in FIT IS.
Some students will have to wait and register courses later due as they are not successful in their attempts to pass the winter semester exams on the first try. Any unauthorized course registration or enrolment will result in the courses being randomly cancelled for that student.

Further information on the registration of elective courses for the summer semester for the 1st year is on the rules page.
