Annotation

The applications of Petri nets in information systems technology that are subjects of our recent research are discussed. The first one deals with general information systems development methodology using Petri nets as unifying formalism for different tasks in information systems design and implementation. The second one describes an extension of high level Petri nets toward the specification language based on object oriented paradigm. The supporting tool and its components are characterized. Finally, Petri nets applications in workflow management are mentioned.
