Abstract
This paper deals with techniques of finite state machines (FSMs) localization in FSM-based softcore intellectual property (IP) cores described in VHDL. The main goal of the FSM localisation is to supplement additional information about the softcore for the core user, to ease design of the diagnostic test of the core. Three methods and experimental results are presented in the paper together with the perspective for future research.
