Introduction to 3D robotic machinig and its possiblities, health and safety issues, preparation of the 3D model for machinig, import and editing in the Tebis software, simulation and adjustment of the robot trajectory, setting up the robot, basic servis, adjustment and programming, choosing and preparing the material for machinig, practical exercise in 3D machinig.

Subject specific learning outcomes and competences

Students will gain experience with the technology. They will be able to choose an adequate procedure to produce specific obejcts, set up the machining strategy in the 3D machining software and will be able to work independently with the machinig robot.

Learning objectives

The course will will instruct students in 3D robotic machining technologies and teach them to use this technology to create 3D objects. Students should acquire the skills to work independently in this discipline and thus widen their technological knowledge in contemporary sculpture.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Students must have common knowledge of working with a PC, have the capability of orientation in virtual space, they must be patient and be interested in 3D technologies. Knowledge of 3D programs (3D Max, Maya, Rhino, SolidWorks etc.) is welcome. Students must be manually skilled and know basic English.

Consultations and lectures.

Controlled instruction

Attendance is essential, hence mandatory. Classes are organized as lectures and seminars in which students divided in groups of two will be lead to cooperate on the assgnments.
