Spectral analysis of digital signals

Fundamental terms and definitions. Methods of spectral analysis for regularly sampled signals. Nonparametric methods for power spectrum estimation - periodogram, Bartlett, Welch and Blackman-Tukey methods. Windowing. Fast algorithms of DFT for general number of samples. Parametric methods for power spectrum estimation - AR, ARMA and MA estimations, Prony's method, Pisarenko Harmonic Decomposition, minimum-variance spectral estimation. Spectral analysis for irregularly sampled signals. Higher-order spectral analysis. Applications of spectral analysis.

Aim of the course is to provide students with theory of detemining spectral characteristics of digital signals, their properties and conditions under which the methods can be used.
