Business English for Intermediate Students

The course is focused on develoment of language skills and mastering of vocabulary used in business, mainly concerning company organization, responsibilities, job applications, interviews, products and services, production processes, sales and orders, complaints, money matters, communication, e.g. telephoning, correspondence, negotations, meetings, presentation of the company, its products and services. Students will work with textbooks and materials offered by the department.

Subject specific learning outcomes and competences

Students will learn how to communicate in business situations, e.g. speak on telephone, write business letters, talk about a company, its products, promotion and sales, and money matters, make presentations.

Learning objectives

The course develops students' language skills for talking to people in business situations, business correspondence, presentation of the company and its products, promotion and sales, talking about money matters, communication in a company, and negotiations.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Knowledge of English at an intermediate level is required, completed BSc BAN4 course.
