Abstract

This contribution presents concepts of debugging in component-based small embedded systems based on FPGAs. The basic concepts are revised and additional problems are concerned such as the implementation and the automated generation of a debug support. In particular, classifications and new approaches in debugging of systems created by component-based hardware/software co-design techniques are introduced. Further, in the form of a debugging framework, we draft necessary modifications of a certain microcontroller architecture.
