Digital predistorter with Hammerstein structure employing statistical adaptation of nonlinear component
Götthans Tomáš, doc. Ing., Ph.D., UREL (FEEC)
The performance of wireless communication systems
is significantly influenced by the nonlinearity of RF components, such as RF power amplifier. Digital predistortion is often applied in such systems to compensate the nonlinearity. The advanced predistortion methods suffer from their high complexity and requirements on feedback path due to the model order and
high wide signal bandwidth. On the contrary, recently proposed statistical methods to adapt predistorter usually do not account for memory effects. This paper demonstrates the possibility to combine statistical method for nonlinearity adaptation with least-squares method for memory compensation adaptation in simple Hammerstein-type of predistorter.
