Abstract

The publication is dedicated to computer screensaver focusing on its realtion to visual art, contemporary society and digital culture. The monograph combines introductory historical and theoretical material written by the edditor, with original commisioned contributions and rich visual documentation. The aim is to reflect a history of something that might be on the edge of extinction - computer screensaver - and to look at it, in the light of current digital/contemporary art activities, as a specific art form.
