Still Image Compression Using Wavelets and SPIHT Algorithm
Předmětem tohoto příspěvku je demonstrovat postup ztrátové komprese obrazu se zřetelem na nízkou výpočetní náročnost. Jedná se o kombinaci ověřených metod.
The subject of this contribution is to demonstrate the procedure of lossy image compression with respect to the low computational complexity. It is a combination of proven methods.

This paper deals with modern methods of a lossy image compression. One of these methods is a wavelet transform. There are Daubechies wavelets used in this work. The transform is computed using quadrature mirror filter banks. To an output of this transform is often applied a SPIHT algorithm which transforms wavelet coeficients into a bit stream.
