Direct torque control (DTC) represents simple approach to control of electrical drives based on AC induction motors. It gives comparable results with classical vector control (VC). The limitation of the current is realized easily in classical VC by the output saturation of the current controllers. This task is not so straightforward in DTC structure. Anyway, the current limitation is highly demanded also in this scheme due to its numerous advantages. This paper presents one possible realization of current limitation. The presented method has been proven in a simulation using Matlab Simulink and it is going to be implemented in a motor control library of functions for Motorola DSP56F80x.
