Abstract

The authors focus in this paper on the region situated in the countryside of ravines along rivers Morava and Dyje. This region belongs not only to those of warmest and the most plentiful in the Czech Republic, but also to places with the earliest signs of settlement. This place will attract lovers of beauties of nature as well as persons interested in cultural treasures passed from our ascendants. Principal authors view will be placed on cycling tourism that enables intensive experiencing freedom of movement and immediate connection with nature. Cycle-ways lead through remarkable places both natural and cultural, recover hidden corners and keep away from busy roads. By doing a pleasure trip within the Lednice - Valtice area visitors can admire monumental Lednice and Valtice manors as well as several smaller but architectonically interesting buildings there were composed by Lichtensteins into lovely garden landscapes. In 7th December 1996 the Lednice - Valtice area was rewarded by being placed on the List of World, Cultural and Natural Heritage of the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). This region has a large but still not completely used potential. This paper is engaged in presentation of possibilities of future development and also of business opportunities that could contribute to the bloom of this mikroregion.
