Abstract

PNtalk is a language and system which combines Petri nets and Smalltalkin a consistent way by introducing Object Oriented Petri Nets. Theobjective of PNtalk is modeling, simulation, and prototyping. Ourcurrent focus is heterogeneous modeling, interoperability andmultisimulation. To achieve these goals, an open implementationapproach proposing appropriate level of control over selected featuresof models is adopted. The open implementation of PNtalk is accomplishedby its reflective metalevel architecture. Multisimulation isdemonstrated by a simple case study.
