Simulation and prototyping of control and navigation system for light sport aircraft

Proposed flight control concept for LSAintegrates mechanical and digital control systems in a synergic way, allowingflight safety and comfort improvements by maintaining or augmenting overallsystem reliability and improving user experience in manual flying. Presentedpaper describes the simulation and prototyping of control algorithms for flightcontrol and navigation system. The applied control strategy uses classicalcontrol theory along with implementation of flight envelope protectionfeatures. The proposed flight control system was subjected to real-time andpilot-in-the-loop experiments in a light aircraft simulation lab SimStar.
