Subject specific learning outcomes and competences

LAN design, link redundancy using HSRP and VRRP, link aggregation using EtherChannel. Overview and application of protocols STP, RSTP and VTP. Practical OSPF and EIGRP routing.
Students will understand common WAN technologies. They will understand WAN technologies PPP and VPN configuration. They get overview of network security, traffic filtering and network monitoring. They will learn fundamentals of network troubleshooting.
Design of LANs, link redundancy and aggregation. VLAN sítě. OSPF and EIGRP routing. This course prepares students to an industrial certification CCNA. This course prepares students to an industrial certification CCNA.

Learning objectives

Students get skills about design and building LANs, link redundancy using HSRP and VRRP, link aggregation based on EtherChannel. Students will configure VLAN networks using managed switches and routers. They will configure OSPF and EIGRP Routing for IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
The second part of the course deals with WAN technologies. In the labs, students will create serial connection using PPP, VPN tunnels and ACL filtering for both IPv4 and IPv6. They will learn how to manage networks and provide network troubleshooting using SNMP, NetFlow and Syslog. The course covers two courses of Cisco Networking Academy programme - CCNA3 and CCNA4 Routing and Switching (R&S) version 6.

Why is the course taught

Students receive theoretical and practical skills in configuration of Cisco networks that corresponds to CCNA Routing and Switching Certification.

Recommended prerequisites

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Successful completion of the courses CCNA 1 and CCNA 2 version 6 (Routing & Switching).
