Learning objectives

Students get skills about design and building LANs, link redundancy using HSRP and VRRP, link aggregation based on EtherChannel. Students will configure VLAN networks using managed switches and routers. They will configure OSPF routing for IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
The second part of the course deals with WAN technologies. In the labs, students will create a serial connection using PPP, VPN tunnels and ACL filtering for both IPv4 and IPv6. They will learn how to manage networks and provide network troubleshooting using SNMP, NetFlow and Syslog. The course covers CCNA Enterprise Networking, Security, and Automation (ENSA) course version 7.

This course prepares students to an industrial certification CCNA.

Why is the course taught

The course is focused on practical skills in configuring network routers and switches. The main emphases lies on hands-on labs and understanding of Cisco IOS operating system. In addition, the course prepares students for industrial CCNA Routing and Switching certification.

Recommended prerequisites

Prerequisite knowledge and skills
