Study targets

The aim of the Bachelor Programme Information Technology is to prepare alumni who are able to use both hardware and software systems at a high professional level. They are able to act as designers, programmers and servicemen of computer systems, digital systems, computer networks, computer-based systems and programmers and administrators of database systems and information systems. The programme is open for teachers of higher schools who aim to complete their knowledge in the branch of information technology for the purposes of teaching.

Admission Requirements

Condition for admitting is a completed secondary education.

Key learning outcomes

Complete higher secondary education being proved by the General Certificate of Secondary Education. All applicants to the BC studies are expected to pass an entrance examination in mathematics and informatics at a level corresponding to standard secondary schools specialized in the sciences. Those applicants who fail to prove sufficient capabilities to enter the Bachelor´s study programme will be offered a one-year bridging study. The passing of the final examination of the bridging studies is sufficient to enter the Bachelor´s study programme.

Work experience

Specialised practice is not obligatory but recomended activity of a student. The practice is organised by the student himself and it should be passed outside from the regular education time and examination period.

Course of study

To pass the bachelor study programme it is needed to pass the subjects in the extent of 180 credits, to complete one-semester bachelor project and to defend it. The structure of the studies is as follows: besides obligatory subjects five subjects are elective that are to be elected from to pool of elective subjects. This pool consists of technical subjects, language courses and pedagogical subjects. This way the student can get the professional specialisation for some electrical branch, for extended language education or for a pedagogical background. Besides this the student will pass two obligatory courses of English with the examination not later then by the end of the fourth semester and can pass up to six 1-semestre courses of gymnastics. The student will pass the bachelor study programme after completing his duties passing the final state bachelor examination.

The graduates may continue in a master's study programme.
