Abstract

The goal of this thesis was to design a printed circuit board with a mounted Wi-Fi module,which would provide Wi-Fi capabilities to MINERVA FITKIT educational platform. Thethesis deals with the process of designing a circuit board and solutions of problems relatedto radio frequency circuits. Part of the thesis is also an analysis of various types of antennas,and their pros and cons. The biggest subject of this work was the process of choosing aversatile Wi-Fi module, and effectively connecting it to another microcontroller, a PC, andappropriate external antenna. The result was a simple two-layered circuit board with twoantennas, a switch for alternating between them, a Wi-Fi module, and a radio frequencytransmission line. This expansion module was successfuly made functional, and programmedwith a simple program. A sufficiently strong wireless signal was produced.
