Italian for Beginners 2

XPC-ITA2 FEKT XPC-ITA2 Acad. year 2025/2026 Summer semester 3 credits

The course continues with deepening the knowledge gained previously from Italština 1. It focuses on growth of vocabulary, it further practices various verb classes and it strives for a more fluent and confident conversation using more precise and complicated phrases from everyday life. The course then deepens the comprehension of written and spoken text and it  practices thoroughly pronunciation and intonation as well as communication skills.

Learning objectives

The aim of the course is to deepen the knowledge gained from ITA1 and to build more competent active and passive communication skills.

A student understands better both a written and spoken text, and he/she is capable of a more fluent and complicated conversation.

 

Syllabus of language exercises

  • L5 reading and listening comprehension, possessive pronouns, revision of past units
  • Practising previous grammar, cardinal and ordinal numbers, conversation
  • R1 revision unit, conversation topic: family
  • Practising previous grammar and vocabulary building, focus on demonstrative and possessive pronouns, dialogues
  • L6 reading and listening comprehension, forming negative by negative pronouns, verb sapere
  • Modal verbs Volere, Dovere, prepositions, minidialogues
  • Practising previous grammar, personal pronouns, conversation topic: housing
  • L7 reading and listening comprehension, reflexive verbs, unstressed personal pronouns
  • Practising previous grammar, minidialogues, conversation, telling the time advanced
  • L8 reading and listening comprehension, past tense Passato prossimo + aux. verb avere
  • Past tense passato prossimo + aux. verb Essere, conversation topic: travelling
  • Practising previous grammar, months, dates, revision
  • Semester test
