Subject specific learning outcomes and competences

Basic knowledge and skills in digital signal and image processing with particular emphasis to procedures applied to multimedia data in internet applications.

Learning objectives

The course should provide the student with the basic theoretical knowledge and practical experience from the area of digital signal and image processing, analysis, communication and archiving. The knowledge is necessary for multimedia data processing in information networks, for analysis and interpretation of the data and in communication applications.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Basic knowledge from computer signal and image processing.
