Mohammad Derawi: Biometric Wireless Electrocardiography
Abstract:
Telemedicine is currently gaining a great attention by many researchers around the world. It has become a future trend of medical care due to the increasing cost of treatment and aging world wide. Several telecommunication approaches have been proposed for transferring medical data between a point of care and a health care institution. In addition, it does not either offer a full mobility where a patient still needs to be attached with wired monitoring devices. In this presentation we will talk about wireless biometric electrocardiography (ECG), a so called 2-lead ECG that transfers heart signals from a patient to a smartphone/tablet for monitoring and storing. Furthermore we also use these data for user-recognition by applying machine learning approaches and stable template creation/comparison algorithms.
