Abstract
A planar dipole in a double-negative (DNG) medium is numerically analyzed by the time-domain integral equation method (TDIE). The antenna is excited by a narrow Gaussian pulse to obtain the responses in a wider frequency band. The transient current distribution on the antenna is processed to obtain time-domain radiation pattern, and to compute the gain. Time-domain parameters are accumulated to get mean-value parameters, which are compared with the conventional frequency-domain parameters using Parseval’s theorem.
