Abstract
The paper studies use of component technology to simplify the design of small FPGA-based embedded system. Based on 
the structural part of WRIGHT component model, we introduce a tool with a knowledge base supporting the creation of a 
configuration using the given architecture. The design of the tool includes an algorithm for the semiautomatic inference 
of a component interconnection defined by a user on the higher level of abstraction. We present a demonstration example of a tool application used in the educational process.
