Modelování mikrovlnných struktur: tradiční a netradiční přístupy
Kniha popisuje nejnovější vývoj v oblasti numerického modelování mikrovlnných obvodů, přenosových vedení a antén.
The paper describes the latest development in the area of numerical modeling of microwave circuits, transmission lines and antennas.
First, a general algorithm of the numerical analysis is introduced, and the basic terms are explained starting from Maxwell equations.
Second, the differential and integral formulations of the problem are compared. The analysis of microwave structures in the frequency domain is confronted with the time-domain approach. The comparisons are illustrated by the examples of the time-domain finite-element analysis of air-supported microstrip transmission line, and by the time-domain moment method analysis of a wire dipole.
Since computational demands of numeric models are relatively high, we discuss the possibility of approximating obtained results by artificial neural networks in the third section. We compare feed-forward neural nets and recurrent ones concluding: feed-forward nets are suitable for an automatic model development in the frequency domain, and recurrent nets are advantageous in the time-domain automatic model development.
In the fourth section, we bring a historical overview of the development of modeling techniques and methods starting in the middle of sixties and finishing with a near future.
In the fifth section, the Laboratory of Numerical Methods at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication is introduced. Achievements of the Laboratory are evaluated from the point of view of research, teaching activities and popularization of the university development.
