Abstrakt

Probably the most crucial step in the knowledgediscovery in databases (KDD) process is data preparation becausevaluable knowledge can be obtained only from data that exposes itssemantic content in the right way. Data cleaning is one of activitiesdone during this step. But it does not receive much attention among thedata mining community, including support in data mining languages. TheData Mining Specification Language (DMSL) presented in the paper aimsto contribute to this topic. Some features of the language concerningdata cleaning and a simple example are shown in the paper.
